- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and thinly slice the sweet potatoes. Cook in boiling water for 10–15 minutes until just tender.
- Grease a baking dish, layer half of the sweet potato slices at the bottom.
- Sprinkle half of the fresh cranberries over the first layer of sweet potatoes.
- Mix heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Whisk until well blended.
- Pour half of the creamy mixture over the first layer, then add remaining sweet potatoes and cranberries. Pour remaining cream mixture over the second layer.
- Sprinkle shredded Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the top is golden brown and edges are bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
