Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into thin rounds. Cook in boiling water for 10-15 minutes until tender, then drain.
  3. In the greased dish, layer half of the sweet potato slices. Top with half of the fresh cranberries.
  4. In a bowl, mix heavy cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Pour half over the layered vegetables.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining sweet potatoes and cranberries, then pour the rest of the cream mixture over.
  6. Sprinkle Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
