Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Add spinach, cooking until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and optional herbs, then let cool.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry into a rectangle measuring approximately 10x12 inches.
- Spread the cooled spinach mixture over half of the pastry and sprinkle crumbled feta on top.
- Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling, pressing edges to seal. Use a rolling pin to secure the seal.
- Cut the pastry into 1-inch strips, twist each strip gently, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the pastries. Sprinkle optional toppings if desired.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and puffed up. Watch closely to avoid over-baking.
- Let the twists cool for a few minutes before serving. Best enjoyed warm.
