Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Let the goat cheese or cream cheese sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to soften.
- Slice each Medjool date lengthwise to create a pocket without cutting through.
- Fill each date with 1-2 teaspoons of softened cheese.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chopped walnuts or almonds with rosemary, orange zest, orange juice, cinnamon, and sea salt. Drizzle in olive oil and mix well.
- Top each filled date with the nut mixture.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast for about 15 minutes until the cheese softens and the nuts are golden.
- Let them cool for about 5 minutes and drizzle with hot honey if desired before serving.
