Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a 12-well cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add vegetable oil, egg, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
- Scoop the batter into the cupcake pan, filling each liner about ⅔ full. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter with brown sugar until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract until fluffy.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the buttercream using a piping bag or a knife.
