Preparation Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onions, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, nutmeg, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
- Lay out the wonton wrappers on a flat surface. Place about a teaspoon of the meat filling in the center of each wrapper, moisten edges, fold to create a triangle, and seal tightly.
- In a large pot, pour in the broth and set over medium heat. Add sliced carrots, chopped celery, and diced parsnip, stir gently, and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes.
- Once the broth is simmering, drop the assembled dumplings into the pot. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until they float and appear firm.
- Taste the broth and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Stir in freshly chopped parsley. Ladle soup into bowls with plenty of dumplings and garnish with more parsley.

Notes
Seal dumplings tightly to preserve flavor. Avoid overcrowding in broth for even cooking. Use homemade or low-sodium broth for richer flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
