Ingredients
  

For the Salad
  • 1 head Lettuce Fresh romaine or green leaf
  • 4-6 slices Bacon Chopped
  • 1 medium Onion Sweet onion or shallots
For the Dressing
  • 1/4 cup Vinegar Apple cider or white
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar Can substitute with honey
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Dijon recommended
  • Salt & Pepper To taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and dry the lettuce, then chop into bite-sized pieces. Chop bacon and slice onion.
  2. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 7-10 minutes until crispy. Remove bacon, leaving drippings.
  3. Sauté sliced onions in bacon drippings for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Whisk together vinegar, sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. Add chopped lettuce to skillet with onions. Pour dressing over and toss to combine.
  6. Serve immediately while warm. Garnish with additional bacon or pepper if desired.
