Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray or oil.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, green enchilada sauce, diced green chiles, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Spread a thin layer of the sauce across the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  4. Layer four flour tortillas over the sauce, allowing them to slightly overlap.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded chicken over the tortillas and drizzle half of the remaining sauce. Add a third of the shredded cheese.
  6. Repeat with the remaining tortillas, shredded chicken, and half of the remaining sauce. Top with another third of the cheese.
  7. Finish with the last layer of tortillas, pour the remaining sauce over, and sprinkle the last third of cheese on top.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbling.
  10. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
