Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add all-purpose flour, salt, beaten egg, and softened butter. Mix until dough begins to form. Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Cover and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  4. Prepare the apple filling by cooking diced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch over medium heat until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Allow to cool.
  5. For the cheesecake filling, mix softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and turn it onto a floured surface. Divide into 12 pieces and roll into balls. Create a shallow indentation in each ball.
  7. Add a dollop of cheesecake filling and a spoonful of cooled apple filling into each dough round.
